Committtees and Policy

The Board is able to establish committees to assist it in carrying out its responsibilities.

These committees act by examining various issues and making recommendations to the Board.

The Audit and Risk Committee assists the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities by providing specialist advice in relation to financial reporting; internal controls; internal and external audit processes; risk management; and monitoring processes for compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

The committee currently comprises:

The Planning, Construction and Environment Committee assists the Board in fulfilling its obligations and responsibilities in relation to the sustainable development of the port with an emphasis on planning, construction and environmental matters, including climate change.

The People and Culture Committee assists the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities by providing strategic direction for human resource management, planning and development within PBC.

The People and Culture Committee Charter sets out the powers, responsibilities, objectives, and administration details of the Committee.

The Privatisation Process Committee assists the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to comply with directions from the Treasurer or his delegate and taking the action necessary to ensure the Corporation complies with such Directions and ensuring, to the extent permitted by such Directions; that business-as-usual activities are not adversely impacted by the privatisation process.
